The Pounamu used for this medium-large sized and beautifully carved Koru is stunning! A truly original and unique carving made from kokopu jade with colours and inclusions we are unlikely to see again!

Hold MOTHERLAND up to the light - it is gorgeous! A semi translucent stone with fascinating organic patterning that add edge and make it distinctive and unique.

The finish is a bright polish, buffed to a point where the stone is best highlighted. This particular finish draws out the colours of the stone, and gives a clear window to the beauty of its interior.

The koru is worn as a symbol of re-birth, growth and development. It represents the unfurling fronds of the fern, and is typically carved with delicate spirals and decorative swirls - this is a superb example.
