PRÊT À ATTAQUER - a small, slightly deadly, hook pendant carved in New Zealand pounamu for us by Ric Moor. It is a traditional design - a shape similar to that we have seen in very old matau carvings.
The jade is a wonderful deep green pounamu. This is a rare jade, loved and valued for its strong, distinctive colour and in this piece, subtle splashes of cloudy coloured inclusions. The cord is a four-plait, adjustable black coloured necklace.
Ric is a craftsman and this piece is a great example of his carving talent. He has finished PRÊT À ATTAQUER with a soft polish that glows and is gorgeous to handle. A pendant to wear all the time.
The Hook - Matau: the wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.
