THE CLIMB
In stock
THE CLIMB - handcarved by Ross Crump this is a smaller pendant carved from a gorgeous piece of New Zealand Inanga Jade.
The jade in this pendant is a darker colour, but on the front and through the tail you can see the classic paler Inanga tones. It has the traditional head of a bird and the classic three-fingered hand which is sometimes seen in these designs. There has been quite some research on the meaning of the three fingers, but I haven't found anything definitive on their meaning. There is no doubt that the portrayal of the hand was significant as the most mobile part of the body, and its central function in daily life.
THE CLIMB is a lovely, tactile piece - a pendant to wear and treasure.
Manaia are considered messengers between the Gods and man. They represent spiritual power and are worn to guide and protect.
Delivered to you on a hand plaited adjustable cord and shipped with DHL Express Courier. We will also include our 'Kia ora' card, explaining the meaning behind the Manaia design.
