POSEIDON - GOD OF THE SEA
The seahorse, or Hippocampus, has a long held a place in mythology and can be seen on coins and other ancient artefacts as early as the 6th century BC. Poseidon, the god of horses, earthquakes and the sea was often depicted driving a chariot drawn by seahorses so they became symbolic of strength and power.
Our seahorse pendant is beautifully carved with lots of detail. It captures the essence of these delicate sea creatures.
We had our mammoth material carbon dated to get an accurate measure of its age. The testing was done for us by GNS Science, a New Zealand Crown Research Institute and New Zealand's leading provider of Earth, geoscience and isotope research - so their assessment of this material is as accurate as is possible using radiocarbon dating technology.
We will provide this with a hand-plaited cord which is length adjustable so that you can position the pendant where it suits you best.
Please use the drop-down menu to select the pendant you'd like to receive. Use the cord colour to make your selection.
