This koru is carved from New Zealand Marsden flower jade - and what an interesting piece of stone this is! It is a classic piece of flower jade exhibiting the mineral inclusions that give this stone its unique colours and patterns.
FERN KORU really is a great example of the beauty of our flower jade - and in the hands of Ric Moor, a great artist and carver, these little works of wonder are created!
The best way to appreciate this work is to watch the brief video we have taken of it slowly revolving. It really is a colourful beauty!
The carved form is bold - Ric has used the perfect piece of stone for the design and he has executed the carving beautifully.
The koru symbolises new life, the central spiral shape represents an unfolding silver fern frond - the beginning of its life. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. This is a fabulous pendant if you're embarking on new challenges. A partner to keep you company.
