GOTCHA BACK
In stock
GOTCHA BACK - an exceptional piece of carved art from Jeromy Van Riel.
Representing a balance, and the acceptance of duality.
Two guardians stand protecting a brilliant heart of pounamu.
We will let Jeromy Van Riel, the artist, explain the thinking behind his artwork...
Hani and Pani are said (by some) to be the guardians of good and bad. Really they represent (to me) left and right more than right and wrong. Laws the earth and sky represent polar opposites of solid and spirit. This piece flips the old saying about sticks and stones... and marries bone and stone to offer support and enhance the sentiment of a very special carving. Through it, I hope to say “ you are special, we have your back”.
GOTCHA BACK is carved from a combination of jade and whalebone. The pounamu is New Zealand's finest - Kahurangi and the figurines at the head are carved from a very old piece of whalebone. The piece is suspended from a hand plaited, brown cord with Jade Toggle.
Hold this piece to the light - the Kahurangi Pounamu is exquisite and shines a beautiful milky green colour.
Shipping is included in the price.
This pendant will be on a hand plaited adjustable cord and in one of our wooden boxes.
