HOA PIRIPONO is a solid, tactile and traditional toki design, crafted from gorgeous deep green Pounamu with pale, striated inclusions.

HOA PIRIPONO is a 'Ric Moor' toki carved and finished in his wonderful satin polish.

This piece is bound with a dark, Wapiti brown cord and we have used the same colour for the necklace. This can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots. Position the toki exactly where you'd like!

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
