KOMODO - carved from our stunning Kokopu Pounamu!
KOMODO has light, milky blue tones through the majority of the stone. We love the spots scattered throughout, which this Kokopu is well known for. We can see a Komodo dragon lurking in this stone - rough, raw, edgy and dangerous but quite beautiful!
This toki is carved with clean, simple lines - nothing distracts from the beauty of the jade. We provide this with an adjustable length cord and a traditional head binding.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
These pendants are traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We will ship this beautiful pendant to you with Express Courier, bound in a hand plaited adjustable cord. We will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
