New Artist - New Material
We are delighted to introduce hand crafted work from a new artist, Conrad Henderson. Conrad has specialised in working with New Zealand Kauri Gum - a gorgeous, varied gum from our native Kauri tree. This gum has spent a good part of its life buried in swampland locked up in fallen Kauri - it is quite rare and very beautiful - especially in the hands of a talented artist!
We have named this beautiful piece RESOLVE - the leaf-shaped part is crafted from ancient Kauri gum. This is a fossilised gum from a New Zealand Kauri tree which has spent the better part of its life buried in swampland in New Zealand Far North. The RESOLVE comes from the tough and unyielding spine carved in New Zealand Pounamu, or jade. A perfect mix of two very 'kiwi' materials - both treasured here in New Zealand.
Kauri Gum is the fossilised resin of the Kauri Tree, a rare piece of history from Kauri trees long gone. It is an amber not a stone. The jade in this piece comes from New Zealand's West Coast - they have met in a beautiful union in this pendant. Two materials that are from the land!
Look at the photos and watch the brief video - a gorgeous piece with lots of character and colour.
This piece is provided with a black adjustable cord and will be shipped with care instructions and a buffer cloth to maintain the gum's original shine. Also included a lovely traditional hand made pouch.
Shipping with DHL Express Courier included in the price.
