SOLSTICE SANCTUARY - flower jade toki pendant

A slender, finely carved toki by Kerry Thompson, made from mixed green flower jade. The stone exhibits the variegated quality characteristic of flower pounamu - subtle shifts in tone and colour that give this piece depth and presence.

Kerry has applied a matte finish to the surface, allowing the curves and edges to register clearly against the skin. The design features two offset koru carved through opposing sides of the toki. A subtle indentation descends from the tip of the upper koru, flowing past the lower motif like a wave. A corresponding indentation rises from the lower koru, passing the upper. The effect visually connects the two forms while maintaining their integrity as separate, distinct elements.

The elegantly tapered profile gives the piece a light, graceful presence. The carved koru catch and hold light, creating contrast across the face of the toki.
