This is a small and really beautiful little koru, carved from New Zealand Jade. The koru is semi-translucent, when held to the light, it reveals it's light green colours and small black inclusions.
The koru is worn as a symbol of re-birth, growth and development. It represents the unfurling fronds of the fern, and is typically carved with delicate spirals and decorative swirls - this is a superb example.
