THE CAULDRON
In stock
THE CAULDRON is a large koru carved from New Zealand Marsden Flower Jade. This is an exceptional piece of jade art. The stone is a wonderfully coloured flower jade - clouds of colour bursting from the bottom and rising towards the very fine koru carved into the top.
This is a large piece with a sense of 'lightness', capturing the essence of the koru symbolism - rebirth, peace and progress!
Hand carved by Ric Moor.
This particular stone is called Marsden after the region the jade comes from. It is prized by carvers for its consistency and quality - artists like to work with this pounamu because it allows a lot of freedom to create and carve.
In skilled hands, some beautiful work is produced from Marsden jade - this piece is a wonderful example of the rare ability to 'carve to the stone'.
THE CAULDRON is a lifetime piece, a pendant that we would like to think will be worn daily and remain in a family as an heirloom.
Take a look at the video - it is a very brief clip that shows the pendant slowly rotating. This gives a very clear picture of the jade and the carving's shape and form.
Worn either side it looks fantastic!
We will ship this pendant to you with Express Courier on a four plait beige, adjustable cord. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' card which explains the meaning of the koru.
