THE WATCHMAN - hand carved New Zealand jade Koropepe pendant
Carved for us by Graeme Wylie, this is a wonderfully harmonious and meaningful piece of traditional art made to wear.
The body of this piece is carved from beautiful New Zealand Jade and has been left with a matte finish in traditional style. Graeme has used Siberian Jadeite for the eyes, which make for a striking contrast.
Guardian Manaia Koru - this piece has a lovely symbolism combining two shapes that are important in our local culture: the manaia and the koru.
The birds head on this manaia symbolises your Guardian Spirit. Traditional belief is that it will guide you and keep you safe on your journey through life. It is a symbol of youth, new beginnings and prosperity.
The koru symbolises new life, the central spiral shape represents an unfolding silver fern frond - the beginning of its life. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’.
This is a fabulous pendant for someone setting out in life, taking on new challenges. These pieces feel absolutely beautiful in the hand.
Please note - the photos shown in the hand and worn are for size reference only.
THE WATCHMAN is loving packaged in a woven kete pouch. Also included, our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind both the Koru and Manaia design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
