TITLIS - a mountain in the Swiss Alps - fantastic hiking in the summer, awesome skiing in the winter - a standout destination.... Ric Moor has cultivated and created a stand-out, one of a kind, Toki, worthy of the comparison! We hope by wearing this exquisite work of art, you too will be inspired to CULTIVATE GREATNESS!
A beautifully bound and hand carved Toki by Ric Moor.
TITLIS is carved from a stunning piece of local New Zealand Jade. The quality of the workmanship and design is outstanding - carved by New Zealand Jade Artist and carver RIC MOOR.
The jade used here is very striking. It is a Marsden jade with very interesting, and we think beautiful, variations of colours within the stone. The head of the Toki has orange/gold hues, while the rest descends into a deep and beautiful green.
The stone and craftsmanship set this toki apart - it is original and unique.
The neck cord is a 4-plait black cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
