WAKA PAHĪ

WAKA PAHĪ - a beautiful, polished jade matau pendant.
We've named this piece after a traditional deep-water canoe that Māori used when travelling offshore. They were fantastic navigators and possessed enormous courage travelling over long distances navigating by the stars. The matau is believed to offer protection when travelling over water, so they held a significant position as a protector.
This is beautifully carved from New Zealand jade. This particular piece is a Flower Jade in various greens.
The Hook: The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.
Shipped to you with Express Courier and will be provided with our 'Kia Ora Cards' explaining the meaning behind the hook design.
