Friendship

This collection contains hand carved pendants that are appropriate to gift as a gesture of love and friendship to someone that you care for. 

The twist or Pikorua is a beautiful symbol of friendship. The closed loop symbolises the spiritual joining of two people who, despite sometimes taking different paths in life, will always remain connected through their friendship.

A Maori custom is to wear a piece of jade or bone before giving it to someone. This is believed to convey the spirit of friendship from the giver to the receiver. In this way you will carry a part of your friend with you in the carving whenever you wear it. This is the reason people often gift carvings to loved ones when they leave home or travel.
