A beautifully carved Toki pendant carved in New Zealand Pakohe, Argillite Stone. Artist: Rueben Tipene.

TAKIRUA combines form and function with its wonderfully tactile design. Its sharply-defined front faces and softly rounded back make it a beautiful piece to hold. A very strong and distinctive design, carved in a stark, evocative Pakohe Stone.

The design in the front face is etched into the stone and then highlighted with silver enamel - a very strong design that contrasts vividly with the stone - this is a wonderful, large toki pendant.

Rueben has polished TAKIRUA to a soft matte finish.
