ACHILLES is a beautiful piece of traditional wearable art, carved from New Zealand greenstone for us by RIC MOOR. Enjoy the unique workmanship and design of this piece and cherish it as a life companion on your adventures!
Hand carved from a lovely piece of local New Zealand Marsden Jade. The stone is exceptional quality, a wonderful clean, clear green! This is a pendant you will want to wear all the time.
We have suspended this from a 4-plait beige cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots and olive binding.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
