CLOUD SURFING is carved from a gorgeous piece of Inanga Jade. The colour of the jade is a light pale green, and it is semi-translucent when held to the light. The lower half is a slightly darker green with beautiful streaks of white.
CLOUD SURFING looks fantastic on both sides - so wear it however you want, it looks great! Take a moment to watch the short video to appreciate the form and colour of this piece.
The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.
The matau, or hook pendant is revered throughout the South Pacific as a symbol for life, well-being and prosperity. Its significance arises from the key role that fishing has played in sustaining island families and communities. The owner of a good hook was respected and held a place of authority in the community.
We will provide this pendant with a hand-plaited cord which is length adjustable.
We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Manaia and hook design.
