FLOWERING SPIRIT - A beautiful contemporary toki pendant carved in Black Jade with a gorgeous little bone sunflower.

This is a lovely piece, carved with precision and buffed to a low sheen - a bold and beautiful necklace.

FLOWERING SPIRIT reinterprets the traditional toki form through a contemporary lens. The piece is carved from a single piece of high-quality black jade, selected for its rich colour and consistent grain. The stone has been worked with precision and buffed to a low sheen, highlighting the material's natural depth and character.

The design features a distinctive crest at the top, where a small hand-carved bone flower is set into the jade. This provides a textural contrast - the warm, organic quality of the bone offsetting the cool density of the stone. From this point, the blade sweeps downward in a concave curve, tapering gradually to a refined edge. The overall silhouette is graceful and balanced, respecting the traditional adze form and introducing a softer, more organic element through the floral detail.

We have bound FLOWERING SPIRIT with a Black Cord and a beautiful kowhai yellow Binding - a fantastic contrast to the deep black of the jade.
