A mysterious piece that hints of history - carved from New Zealand stone, this is a wonderful smaller-sized toki. Ric has kept it quite chunky which gives it a presence that is greater than its size.
In STORIES UNTOLD you have a pendant that looks fabulous whichever side you choose to wear it - carved from a lovely piece of local New Zealand Marsden Jade. The quality of the workmanship and design is outstanding - this is a piece you will want to wear all the time.
We have suspended this from a 4-plait beige cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.
STORIES UNTOLD is a beautiful piece of traditional jewellery and one that can be worn all the time - it is robust and resilient - the perfect travel companion!
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
