THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
Elegant, graceful and mysterious! Hand carved from New Zealand Kauri Gum and Pounamu. The stone comes from the heart of our Southern Alps, the gum from fallen, ancient kauri trapped in the northern land.
This is a unique pendant which combines two materials that are very highly regarded here in New Zealand. It is beautifully made, light in the hand and very comfortable to wear.
This gum has spent a good part of its life buried in swampland locked up in fallen Kauri - it is quite rare and very beautiful - especially in the hands of a talented artist! This piece is very clear and light-coloured, a very soft honey-gold which beautifully contrasts with the bright green piece of pounamu - a great pair!
Kauri Gum is the fossilised resin of the Kauri Tree, a rare piece of history from Kauri trees long gone. It is an amber, not a stone.
Look at the photos and watch the brief video - you'll appreciate the lovely, sensual nature of this material..... it feels as good as it looks!
