This large matau, is carved from a striking darker green piece of New Zealand Marsden jade. The stone is superb!
The jade is a beautiful piece of consistency Marsden and is finished in Ric's signature fine matte - silky smooth, ready to be worn and enjoyed by its owner!
The best way to appreciate this work is to watch the brief video we have made of it slowly revolving. Its beauty is in the simplicity of the design. It is very difficult to get the lines and curves just right so that a matau like this has just the right balance and form.
