WAKA PAHĪ - a beautiful polished flower jade matau pendant.
We've named this piece after a traditional deep-water canoe that Māori used when travelling offshore. They were fantastic navigators and possessed enormous courage travelling over long distances navigating by the stars. The matau is believed to offer protection when travelling over water, so they held a significant position as a protector.
These are beautifully carved from beautiful New Zealand jade. The colours vary so be sure to take a good look at the photos to select the piece that you would like - use the cord colour as a guide.
