A TUATARA'S JOURNEY
This is a really incredible work of art!
A hand carved Tuatara Lizard slowly marching from its ancient past into the future. This is a carving masterpiece - carved with intricate detail to tell the story of this ancient creature - the world's last surviving lizard from a lineage that is as old as the oldest dinosaurs.
Fumio has carved this piece in netsuke style - it can be worn as a pendant but also on a traditional Japanese sash. We provide A TUATARA'S JOURNEY with a fixed length cord with deer antler toggle.
The material used for this carving is New Zealand Red Deer antler so it is extremely tough and will stand wear very well if you choose to make it a favourite necklace. The eyes are made from inlaid Goat Horn.
Watch the brief video to appreciate the 3-dimensional character of Fumio's carving.
A beautiful and original piece of carved art. A piece for collectors - this is a one-off piece.
