This toki is handmade by Ross Crump. Ross is a Master Jade Carver renowned for his skill in working with New Zealand jade, or Pounamu. He brings out the very best in the stone that he is working with. Every piece is a little different - WATERFALL is a very elegant piece that Ross has polished to a very high shine.

We have two WATERFALL Toki available - please use the drop-down menu to make your selection.

Have a look at the very short video we have made of WATERFALL rotating - it has gorgeous lines and is carved flawlessly. We have bound it with a cord that adds a little colour and really draws the eye - this is a very striking piece of jewellery that can be worn by anyone.

A little about the toki design and its meaning....

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The jade used to carve this stunning Toki came from the West Coast on New Zealand's South Island, from the Marsden valley. It was created in the alpine fault and shaped and given further character in our alpine rivers.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.

We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
