CHIEF is a bone figurine inspired by the traditional carving found in Papua New Guinea. Wood is the usual material used by Papuans, but they do also carve in bone and use other natural materials in their design. This piece was carved for us by Yuri Terenyi, and is a superb example of bone carving craftsmanship and ethnic design.
It is a visually unusual piece which can be worn as a necklace, or displayed as a piece of traditional art, and will appeal to those of you who are fascinated by art with its roots in ethnic cultures.
