A lovely, smaller toki - carved in a distinctive piece of inanga jade. This jade was given its name after a little native fish that is found in some of New Zealand's rivers and streams. It is challenging to carve, and looks fantastic when this is done well.
The care taken in the carving is matched in the binding so this is a very well dressed piece. An outstanding toki that you will own for a lifetime and pass onto you children.
The jade Darren used for MOSS is a lovely light green colour and he has finished it in a traditional burnished matte.
The toki or adze was an important tool for the polynesian people, used to build meeting houses and shape their sea-going canoes. It has been traditionally worn to give strength and courage to the wearer.
Provided on an adjustable plaited cord in Khaki and your package will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
