Hand carved double hook pendant - in Deer Antler.

Deer antler grows very quickly. It is regrown every year and after the mating season (and the battles have been won or lost) the antler is shed. The tips of the antlers are the oldest part of the bone and are very dense and exceptionally hard. The further towards the shaft the more porous the bone becomes and this is evident in the carving - it adds a tremendous character to these pieces.

The primary difference between antler and bone is the porosity of the material.

The matau, or hook, shape is a respected symbol for prosperity, abundance and fertility - worn by those able to provide for their families.

Check out the slender, flowing lines of this piece and the way these classic hooks embrace one another - we have designed this with the mother, or father and child in mind. This is the perfect gift for expecting parents!

A pendant with traditional meaning but very contemporary looks.

We provide this with a hand-plaited cord which is length adjustable allowing the pendant to be positioned wherever suits you best. Please use the drop-down menu to select the cord colour you'd like.

We will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the hook design.
