Gorgeous flower jade hei matau pendant. Hand carved from rare and visually striking New Zealand pounamu.
The hei-matau, or hook shaped pendant has long been worn with pride as a symbol of prosperity and fertility. This is a result of the importance of the hook for families and communities in providing food from the sea.
This pendant is supplied with a black hand plaited cord and a woven pouch. If you would like a different coloured cord take a look at the options we offer HERE and HERE and let us know which colour you would prefer in the comments field at checkout.
Hei-matau are also worn to provide protection when travelling - so a very symbolic pendant and a very meaningful gift.
