This is a wonderful finely carved koru - the swirl is a floret shape carved into the heart of a fine sliver of New Zealand jade. Front on this is a reasonably large piece but the jade is fine and semi translucent - it has a wonderful delicate feel and looks stunning worn.
A beautiful Koru that when held up to the light is almost translucent and reveals dark, speckled inclusions.
The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
This pendant looks fantastic whichever side you choose to display.
We have ONE of these stunning koru.
