The Goddess - our interpretation of the Venus of Willendorf figurine, handcarved in deer antler.
The original Venus of Willendorf was discovered in Austria and is believed to have been carved around 30,000 BCE. Although there is no definitive understanding of the meaning of the original figurine, the exaggeration of the parts of her body associated with fertility and child-bearing suggest that she may have been associated with fertility rituals.
This piece has rounded, soft curves in the front face and a curved, uncarved back - you can clearly see the form in the video.
