GOLDEN HOUR - that moment right after sunrise when the light is magical.
At the top of this Toki is a gorgeous golden edge automatically making us think of the glorious GOLDEN HOUR one might see just after the sun rises, or just before it goes down.
This is a gorgeous large toki. Carved in New Zealand pounamu, this is an imposing piece - a traditional pendant with significance. The jade is a gorgeous darker green with palish clouds scattered at the top. Have a look at the brief video we have taken of this toki slowly rotating - this will give you a very clear view of is shape and the colour of the jade.
The finish is a nice bright, clean polish which will only get better over time as it takes on your body oils and maybe a little of your spirit. It will become a spectacular piece that we believe will become a very special part of your family.
We have bound it with a thick Black cord and Burnt Gold lashing. The cord is length adjustable with burnt gold slip knots.
THE TOKI MEANING....
As an adornment, the Toki, or Adze, is said to bring courage and strength in times of adversity. It is a symbol of courage and strength in times of adversity and is often worn by Maori elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
Maori believe that carvings carry the spirit of those who wear them, becoming an important family Taonga (treasure) passed on to future generations of the family as an heirloom.
Also included, one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
We will deliver this to you with DHL Express Courier.
