MAMAKU - Carved from New Zealand Jade (Pounamu)
We've named these wonderful toki after our MAMAKU tree - a majestic tree fern. The jade used for these is a beautiful variegated green which shimmers and glows as the light passes across the pendant.
MAMAKU are medium-sized Toki handcarved and polished to a low sheen. They have a good depth and a little heft, so, although medium in size, they are substantial.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful ....and this is a good one!
This beautiful Toki has a Koru carved into its centre - this symbolises fresh beginnings, a new start - the perfect pendant for someone taking on new challenges
Traditionally, the toki is worn to provide strength and courage to assist through life's challenges, and the koru is a symbol of rebirth, growth and new beginnings.
We have two coloured Binding options available - please use the drop-down menu to make your selection.
We include our 'Kia Ora' cards explaining the meaning behind both the Toki and Koru design.
