GREEN LIGHT
In stock
GREEN LIGHT offers a stylish, edgy design of a traditional jewellery piece - the toki. Carved by renowned New Zealand jade artist and carver Ric Moor, this is a lovely fine pendant, carved in a dark, moss green piece of pounamu.
This piece is suspended from a fine 4-plait black cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots. The binding around the head is also done with a black cord - a neutral colour that takes nothing away from the stone.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
