GRIT
A medium sized, bound and hand carved Toki by Ric Moor.
GRIT is carved from a solid, beautiful piece of New Zealand Jade. It is a lovely variegated green colour - we love this little piece of Art to Wear!
The neck cord is a 4-plait black which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.
GRIT is an angular, edgy piece with a great sense of presence - Ric has been generous with the jade he has used - a hallmark of his work. This is a strong toki pendant and will suit someone who likes to get out and do things!
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
