Check out the lovely colouring in this Inanga stone. IMPARTED WISDOM represents the importance of what our ancestors have shared and passed onto their following generations. Wear this Toki and pass this piece of heritage through your bloodline and leave a piece of your IMPARTED WISDOM.
Take a look at the brief video which shows this piece revolving. It is a gorgeous, flawless piece of stone and has been carved beautifully to highlight this wonderful natural material.
IMPARTED WISDOM is slender and cool - it is a small to medium size and can be comfortably worn all the time.... and we think that once you put this on you won't want to take it off!
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The jade used to carve this stunning Toki came from the West Coast on New Zealand's South Island. It is a little like the luscious green colours you'll encounter when you have the opportunity to visit this remote and beautiful area.
We are very fortunate to have artists who have maintained, and evolved, the carving skills that Māori have used for centuries to make tools and jewellery This toki is a wonderful example of this art.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
