A gorgeous Manaia/Koru hand carved by Master Jade Carver and Artist, Ross Crump. This piece is beautiful - delicately carved from a sublime piece of New Zealand Pounamu.

Ross has incorporated a koru spiral in the tail, combining a couple of shapes well-known in the South Pacific, and giving it an interesting symbology:

The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.

The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’.  The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.

We will ship this pendant to you on a hand plaited adjustable cord. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, explaining the meaning behind both the Manaia and Koru design.

Please Note: the photo of pendant in hand and the video are for size reference only.
