An original, large Toki carved from New Zealand Jade (Pounamu). This is our FEARLESS pendant upsized!
From time to time we've been asked if we could carve our WARRIOR and FEARLESS toki a little larger - well here's what we've come up with - INNER ROAR.
We've named this piece after that time of year in New Zealand - usually early April - when the temperature drops and the stags get restless. We live on the bush line and around this time of year the valley resonates with the roar of Red Deer looking for a little action - instinctual, primal and incredibly impressive! UNLEASH YOUR INNER ROAR!
This toki is carved from a lovely piece of jade with a soft matte finish. To contrast and complement the subtle shades of green and the paler flecks in the stone, we've bound it with a beautiful four plait Beige/Khaki Cord and a Olive Green Binding. The cord is length adjustable.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful ....and this is a good one!
Traditionally, the toki is worn to provide strength and courage to assist through life's challenges, and the koru is a symbol of rebirth, growth and new beginnings.
