Hand-carved by Ross Crump this is a larger pendant carved from New Zealand Flower Jade.
The jade in this pendant is a lovely medium green with little flecks of gold through the bottom of the body. It has the traditional head of a bird and tail of a fish which is often found in the manaia. Ross has carved two fine koru swirls in the middle of the body - so this piece, for us, embodies the sky, the earth and the sea in the one carving.
A lovely, tactile piece - a pendant to wear and treasure.
Manaia are considered messengers between the Gods and man. They represent spiritual power and are worn to guide and protect.
Delivered to you on a hand plaited olive adjustable cord and shipped with DHL Express Courier. We will also include our 'Kia ora' cards, explaining the meaning behind both the Manaia and Koru designs.
