Moraine - glacial stone

This toki, or adze pendant is carved from inanga pounamu, named after a small native fish which is a pearly, grey-green colour. This was a treasured stone for making jewellery - displaying variations in colour as the light strikes it from differing angles.

This piece is a lovely pale olive-green colour, and has a slight scoop shape which you can see in the video. We have ONE ONLY and will remove this from the site when sold.

The toki is a tribal symbol representing strength. It is designed to honour the adze which was used to build , fight, defend and played a important role in the daily survival of ancient tribes.
