BEAUTIFUL ART TO WEAR
LITTLE RIVER - a small New Zealand pounamu toki hand carved and bound by us. This is a fabulous little pendant if you would like to carry a small piece of New Zealand with you on your adventures.
As an adornment, the Toki, or Adze, is said to bring courage and strength in times of adversity. It is a symbol of courage and strength in times of adversity and is often worn by Maori elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
Maori believe that carvings carry the spirit of those who wear them, becoming an important family Taonga (treasure) passed on to future generations of the family as an heirloom.
We hand-plait the cords and lash the top of the toki in a traditional pattern.
There are three different coloured bindings and cord available - use the drop-down box to select your preference.
We provide these beautiful Toki pendants on hand plaited adjustable cords and will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
