The jade Ric used for MAMAKU is a lovely soft, mottled green colour and he has finished it in a traditional burnished matte. This is a gorgeous pendant, beautifully carved and Ric has chosen the ideal design to showcase the stone. It has a subtle bend to the front which gives the piece just a little form and allows it to beautifully present whichever way you wear it.
We have this on a fine 4-plait cord which adjusts on a couple of slip-knots - so you can position the piece where it suits you best!
The toki or adze was an important tool for the polynesian people, used to build meeting houses and shape their sea-going canoes. It has been traditionally worn to give strength and courage to the wearer.
Provided on an adjustable plaited cord in Black and your package will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
