Inanga Jade, Rare and Beautiful....
MANA - SPIRIT
MANA - named because the jade in this piece exudes the spirit of the Manaia and Koru design. This is a wonderful depiction of New Zealand Pounamu at its finest, and you can clearly see how impressive the stone is when carved with skill and sensitivity. This is a gorgeous, complex piece carved with Ross Crump's craftsmanship.
Hand carved, rare Inanga jade manaia. A Ross Crump beauty!
A finely carved and beautifully balanced manaia pendant - carved with Ross Crumps' signature detailed head, koru swirls and a lovely swing through the body and into the tail. This manaia has been carved from a gorgeous, subtly coloured piece of Inanga Jade.
Watch the brief video that shows this piece revolving - you will appreciate the carving mastery and best see the lovely colours through the stone. A standout piece of jade jewellery.
We have hand-plaited a Khaki/Manuka/Grey cord - colours that complement the unique colouring in the pounamu.
SYMBOLISM IN THIS CARVING.....
Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.
Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
We will ship this pendant to you with DHL Express Courier on a hand plaited adjustable cord. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind both the Manaia and koru designs.
