MANGOPARE
This Toki is beautifully bound and hand carved by Ric Moor.
The colouring varies considerably from front to back so you have a pendant that looks fabulous whichever side you choose to wear it. Slip it over your head and you'll be donning a stunning piece of wearable art.
MANGOPARE is carved from a lovely piece of local New Zealand Jade. The quality of the workmanship and design is outstanding - this is a piece you will want to wear all the time.
We have suspended this from a 4-plait beige cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots. MANGOPARE is a beautiful piece of traditional jewellery and one that will last through generations.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
Delivery with DHL Express Courier is included in the price.
