OCEAN EXPLORER - a stunning little whale tail with Koru. For us, a symbol of eternal freedom.
A New Zealand Pounamu koru with whale tail, hand carved by Ross Crump. This is a very finely crafted piece made from a piece of our most beautiful Inanga jade.
Take a look at the colour of the stone - it is absolutely beautiful! A palish green which is quite translucent. A gorgeous and very unique piece of Pounamu and Ross has used it to great effect in this carving.
This is a piece to wear high on the neck - for all the world to see and enjoy!
We have bound this piece with a hand-plaited Khaki cord with a floret popper in Paradise Blue. The length of the cord can be adjusted by you.
OCEAN EXPLORER can be worn reversed - each side is quite distinct and shows the wonderful carving and design. A lovely, light and delicate pendant.
The KORU, represents a young, unfurling fern frond opening and bringing new life and purity to the world. It also represents peace, tranquility and spirituality, along with a strong sense of growth or new beginnings.
It is a symbol that the strong bond of friendship, loyalty and love lasts forever.
The WHALE has quite some significance in Polynesian cultures. Here in New Zealand whales are believed to be descendants of Tangaroa - the God of the Oceans. They are regarded as sacred and supernatural beings and are believed to provide guidance and protection.
Shipped with DHL Express Courier. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' card, explaining the meaning behind the koru design.
