Flower Jade, Rare and Beautiful....
PHILOSOPHER - hand carved, rare jade manaia. A Ross Crump beauty!
A finely carved and beautifully balanced manaia pendant - carved with Ross Crumps' signature detailed head, koru swirls and a lovely swing through the body and into the tail. This manaia has been carved from a gorgeous subtly coloured piece of Flower Jade.
Watch the brief video that shows this piece revolving - you will appreciate the carving mastery and best see the lovely colours through the stone. A standout piece of jade jewellery.
We have hand-plaited an Olive Green and Gingernut cord - these colours complement the unique colouring in the pounamu.
Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.
Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
We will ship this pendant to you with DHL Express Courier on a hand plaited adjustable cord. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind both the Manaia and koru designs.
