WE'RE BACK!
Handcarved from stunning RARE New Zealand Kahurangi Jade by Master Carver - Ross Crump.
As an adornment, matau are said to bring prosperity, abundance, good health and power. They are believed to lend authority to the wearer. Matau are worn as a talisman to provide protection and safety when travelling over water.
The fish hook played an important role in the lives of early Polynesian cultures as it provided the means to catch fish - a staple and important part of their diet. A good fish hook was something of real value. These values are still considered inherent in these carved representations.
