ROAD HOME - the way back to wherever your heart truly belongs
Handcarved from a wonderful and RARE piece of New Zealand Flower Jade by Master Carver - Ross Crump.
As an adornment, matau are said to bring prosperity, abundance, good health and power. They are believed to lend authority to the wearer. Matau are worn as a talisman to provide protection and safety when travelling over water.
Great symbols of protection on any journey, but most importantly on the long ROAD HOME.
The fish hook played an important role in the lives of early Polynesian cultures as it provided the means to catch fish - a staple and important part of their diet. A good fish hook was something of real value. These values are still considered inherent in these carved representations.
We provide this pendant with a hand-plaited, adjustable Kalahari coloured cord and a striking Ice Popper.
Also included, one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the hook design.
Delivered with DHL Express Courier.
