SLIPWAY - carved from a rare and wonderful piece of translucent milky-green New Zealand Inanga Jade. We have bound the head of this toki in a lovely two-tone green, with an olive green cord. We wanted to provide a subtle binding that complements the jade and visually connects our coastal waters and bush clad mountains.
This is a one-off piece carved from jade that we rarely see.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful ....and this is a good one!
This beautiful Toki has a Koru carved into its centre - this symbolises fresh beginnings, a new start - the perfect pendant for someone taking on new challenges.
Traditionally, the toki is worn to provide strength and courage to assist through life's challenges, and the koru is a symbol of rebirth, growth and new beginnings.
We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards explaining the meaning behind both the Toki and Koru designs.
